Stafford voters will decide whether to authorize a local sales and use tax of up to 1% for eligible school construction, renovation and capital projects. A yes vote would authorize the Board of Supervisors to implement it; it would not itself select or fully fund individual projects.
Why this mattersThe measure would affect the tax on eligible purchases and create a dedicated source for school capital needs. School operating expenses could not be paid from this revenue.
