Route 1 bridge replacement begins at Chopawamsic Creek

VDOT announced the start of work to replace the Route 1 bridge over Chopawamsic Creek near Quantico. Construction is phased so Route 1 can remain open, although temporary off-peak lane closures may be needed.

VDOT listed the project at approximately $13.8 million and anticipated completion in June 2028. Current travel conditions and schedule changes should be checked through VDOT and 511Virginia.
